NWC complicity, Skewed appointments responsible for Kogi crisis -APC Panel

The reconciliation committee set up by the chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress
(APC) to resolve the political crises in the state chapter has submitted its reports blaming the National Working Committee (NWC) and skewed political appointments among others as reasons for the degenerating crisis.

Other reasons revealed by the panel chairman, Chief Tony Momoh at the party secretariat in Abuja shortly after the submission of its reports includes: Anti-party activities during the elections, Ruptured party, government and governor relations, none or poor stakeholders’ consultations, political reconciliation with Audu and Faleke group, workers’ salaries and internal security”.

Chief Momoh told newsmen that about 300 pages of presentations including the findings and recommendations were submitted to the party.

“What I am saying is that we had recommended win-win concessions unless people had made up their minds to do what they want to do.

“APC national headquarters’ complicity, all these were areas we broke the issues and we discussed them comprehensively and made recommendations.

“We met the National Assembly caucus led by Dino Melaye, we met the state assembly, all the members of state assembly and the speaker; we also met the state executive committee of the party and the Faleke group. We met the governor and his team. Actually, we met with the governor for about 3 times because the bulk really steps on the governor’s desk”.

He said, “Everybody accepted that Yes, Yahaya Bello is our governor and chief executive of the state but look at the problems, we had lots of people coming to testify to what they said the governor had done and others who are supporters of the governor coming to testify about the good things he had done”.

The Chief Tony Momoh led committee pointed that there was total breakdown of communication as a result of its absence.

“Everybody was singing his own song, and telling his own stories but coming together, we pleaded with them, appealed to them ensuring that everybody who had a case to make made the case and we gave the party more than 300 pages of materials for documentation but one good thing is that, all that were invited turned up.

“The other thing is that, lots of people whom we did not invite came and we did not drive them away. We attended to everybody and we had ten areas which we broke the issues into”, he said.
