NPFL: Mathias plots Nasarawa’s fall

El Kanemi Warriors attacking midfielder, Samuel Mathias has said his side hope to rehash their almost flawless performance on home ground at top-flights, Nasarawa United.
The Maduguri Warriors are guests of the Solid Miners in today’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 30 clash at the Lafia Township Stadium.
Mathias said the hosts, Nasarawa United will not find it easy with his side when both sides go for the jugular of the top-flight three points.
“We want to recreate our strong form in our home matches at Nasarawa United on Wednesday in Lafia.
“Although, we have won just one away match at Abia Warriors so far in the on-going top-flight the Lafia trip is certain to make it the second road victories for us.
“Nasarawa United though a good side but we want to make the clash really difficult for them at their backyard.
“If we cannot claim the whole three points we will be comfortable with a point but defeat is out of consideration.
“Our target remains to ink a continental ticket at the end of the season and the clash against Nasarawa United and other matches on the calendar are our goal to achieve our lofty dream,” said the former Kano Pillars marksman.
The top-flight 12-goal hero said he is not competing with anybody for the goal leader award.
“I have scored 12 goals so far in the on-going Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
“I’m not certain to be in competition or contention for the top scorer’s award with anybody.
“My goal is to further improve on my game as well as help my team achieve success in the on-going season.
“MFM FC striker, Stephen Odey is on 17-goal so far I’m really happy for him but like I said I’m not competing with him or any other person.
“I will continue to do my best and if at the end of the day my best proved adequate to fetch me the award to God be the glory,” said the Maiduguri landlords’ goal poacher.
El Kanemi Warriors are fourth on the 20-team top-flight log on 46 points five behind league leaders, Plateau United.
