Notorious robbers lost their lives on Kano Katsina highway
Three notorious armed robbers whom had terrorised people on Kano-Katsina high way met their water loo on Sunday night after a fierce gun battle with the Kano State Police command special task force.
Briefing news men on Monday, the command’s public relation officer ASP Musa Majia said that the command received a distress signal that the group whom had terrorised motorist between
Lamba and dan siri village of Katsina had set up a road block on the Kano Katsina high way which prompted the command’s Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) and STF special task force to move into action.
“on sighting our men, the robbers opened fire which our men retaliated. After 15 minutes of fierce gun battle, our men over powered the robbers and a result of tactical measures employed by or well trained men. On reaching hospital, the doctor on duty confirmed the three robbers’ dead”
Items recovered from the robbery scene include two AK47 riffles, a machete, one locally made pool, magazines, bullets, handset and some amount of money in local currency.
Majia called on the general public to support the command by reporting suspicious persons and activities of bad elements within their midst to the police for appropriate measures to be taken either by reporting to the nearest police Station or via the command’s public lines.
