NOC medical course begins in Lagos

About 50 medical personnel comprising Doctors, Physiotherapists, Nurse(s) and other satisfied medical officials and coaches drawn from State Sports Councils/Commissions, Universities and National Sports Federations, have converged in Lagos for a 3-day Nigeria Olympic Committee/International Olympic Committee solidarity course holding at the Command Guest House, Apapa Lagos.
Chairman of the Nigeria Olympic Committee Medical Commission, Dr. Akin Amao who confirmed this in Lagos while explaining the significance of the course, said the programme is aimed at ensuring that Nigeria’s Sports Medicine sector is not found wanting more so when the RIO 2016 Olympic Games is already around the corner.
Event Coordinator, Deborah Chidobi, said the president of the Nigeria Olympic Engr. Habu Gumel will be on ground to declare the all-important course open today at the Command Guest, House auditorium Apapa at 10am prompt even as recknowned medical doctors and professors have been listed as resource persons for the event.
They include Dr. A. Muazu, Dr. Lanre Glover, Dr. Michael Kayode, Dr. Jide Adebola, Dr. Sikuade Jagun, Mr. Olawale Oladejo and Dr. Akin Amao, while Prof. Olatunde Makanju, Prof. Ken Anugweje, Prof. Wale Oke (Chief Medical Director, Lagos State University Teaching Hospital) complete the list.
