Nnamani, Niger Gov to head Edo, Ondo APC reconciliation committees


*Party denies purported zoning ahead of National Convention

The Caretaker/Extra-Ordinary National Convention Planning Committee (CEONCPC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has approved the appointment of the former Senate President, Sen. Ken Nnamani GCON and the Governor of Niger State, Abubakar Sani Bello to chair the party’s reconciliation committees for Edo and Ondo States respectively.

A statement Tuesday by Yekini Nabena,
Deputy National Publicity Secretary
said the approval is in line with the process of true reconciliation among leaders and members of the party at all levels, announced by the National Chairman of the Committee, Governor Mai Mala Buni.

Other members of the Edo State Reconciliation Committee are; Works minister, Babatunde Raji Fashola, Minister of State, Labour, Fetus Keyamo, Prof. Tahir Mamman, Mrs. Margaret Okadigbo, Barr. Sanusi Musa and
Hon. Abdul-Rahman Kawu Sumaila who will serve as Secretary.

Members of the Ondo State Reconciliation Committee are; Sen. Adamu Aliero Sen. Bamidele Opeyemi,
Gambon Magaji, Mr. Jasper Azuwatalum , Hajiya Binta Muazu, Hon. Iquo Inyang and Mr. Shina Pellar as Secretary.

Meanwhile, the party had denied purported zoning arrangement for its planned extraordinary National Convention.

Nabena in a separate statement said “a purported zoning arrangement for the planned National Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) which has gone viral in the social media is fake.

“Party members, supporters, stakeholders and indeed the general public are advised to disregard the fake news.

“The inaugural meeting of the Caretaker/Extra-Ordinary National Convention Planning Committee (CEONCPC) which held at the APC National Secretariat on Monday did not discuss or issue the fake zoning arrangement for the planned National Convention.

“If and when a zoning arrangement is made for the planned National Convention, it will be officially communicated and publicised”
