Nigerians will vote out Buhari on February 23, says Wike

Amaka Agbu, Port Harcourt

Rivers state Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared that despite the postponement of the February 16 elections masterminded by the APC-led federal government, Nigerians were determined to vote out President Muhammadu Buhari.
Speaking during a special anointing service at the Living Faith Church, in Port Harcourt on Sunday, Governor Wike said the postponement should re-energise Nigerians to use their votes to insist that Nigeria must be better.
He said that “I am not speaking to you because I am a governor. I am speaking because I am a member of an organisation called; Nigeria must be better.
“The situation we find ourselves today is not what we bargained for.
We have to move ahead so that Nigeria must be better. You know what to do next Saturday.”
Governor Wike regretted that there were people who thought they could play on the intelligence of Nigerians by shifting elections unnecessarily and thanked the electorate for refusing to be provoked by the last minute postponement of the Presidential and National Assembly elections.
“What happened should re-energise you to still believe in the principle that Nigeria must be better. If before, you said let me just do it, this week come with all your energy and truly ensure Nigeria must be better,” he challenged the congregation.
The governor urged Nigerians to opt for development, freedom and abhor dictatorship when they vote on February 23.
Governor Wike said the message to Nigerians on the way forward is clear, declaring that Nigerians have spoken that they want to dump the “failed Buhari era and revive development.”
Pastor of Living Faith Church in the state, Pastor Isaac Folaji, and other clerics prayed for the peace of the country and her development. Pastor Folaji conducted an anointing service for the growth and protection of individuals and for the development of Rivers state.
