Nigerian Activists In Diaspora Ask President Buhari To Legalize Gay Practice

 

Nigerian Activists in the diaspora have called on President Muhammadu Buhari to find a solution to the perennial security challenges bedeviling the country.

These Nigerians mostly based in Paris, France made the call in an electronic statement issued on Sunday.

The statement was routed through a Paris-based gay activist, Mr. Victor Ologunowa, and obtained by journalists in Akure.

Mr. Ologunowa is from Ondo state and also a popular Nigerian Musician in Paris, France.

He explained that the renewed attacks by members of the dreaded Islamic insurgents [Boko Haram] mostly in the Northeast axis of Nigeria has rendered many residents homeless and displaced.

The gay activist further said the Boko Haram’s constant attack on unsuspecting residents has become a nightmare for Nigerians in the diaspora.

He tasked the Federal government to find ‘peace’ as a weapon for the form of its negotiation with the marauders in the interest of the nation’s growing economy.

“I am urging the Federal Government, under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari to find lasting solution to insecurity in the country.

“The news reaching us here on the level of insecurity in Nigeria is scary and uncalled for”, he said.

However, the Nigerian-Paris based gay activist has asked President Buhari to re-double up in his mantra of fighting corruption and avoid been selective in the struggle.

He urged the President to probe those who contributed money for his own election campaign and desist from fighting only opposition members from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“It is sad that only members of the PDP are being prosecuted and persecuted. Once you decamp to the All Progressives Congress, you become a saint.

“The anti-corruption war should not be selective, all past government officials who have misappropriated government funds like President Olusegun Obasanjo and Atiku Abubakar should not be spared”

Ologunowa also advised President Buhari to keep to his campaign promises because he was voted into government to change the country from its current state of poverty.

“The president should know that people are suffering and wallowing in abject poverty.

“How long will it take the president to listen and act on the suffering of the people”, he said.

Meanwhile, Mr. Ologunowa has advised the Nigerian government to legalize gay activities in the county.

He claimed that legalizing gay practice in Nigeria will give the people freedom of Association as cited the constitution.
