Nigeria will get it right this time – Achuba

The Deputy Governor of Kogi state, Elder Simon Achuba has said that the ongoing programme of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) on True Federalism to engage the people and seek their opinions on how Nigeria should be, would put the country in its right place among the comity of nations.
Achuba who stated this at the APC Committee on True Federalism Public Hearing on Friday in Owerri, the Imo state capital, said that the submissions of the people in the area were for the best interest and for the unity of the country.
The deputy governor, in a statement on Friday by his Chief Press Secretary, Akor Sylvester, assured that when the reports are finally collated and forwarded to the National Assembly and the Presidency, justice would be done to the issues raised by the people for the good of the country.
While stating that Nigeria will be better with the leadership of President Muhammandu Buhari, the Deputy Governor urged the people to be patient with the government, maintaining that the unity of the country is guaranteed under the present administration of the country.
Speaking earlier, the Executive Governor of Imo state, Rochas Okoroocha said those who are calling for the division of the country from the South East are not real Ibos, stating that the real Ibos who have their investments all over the country, will not think of the division of the country.
He said Nigerians should disassociate Ibos from the struggle to have Biafra as a country, saying the struggle is not the project of the Ibos.
He urged his people to focus on other things that would bring about development in the region, maintaining that the oneness of the country is not negotiable.
The Governor further assured that the submissions made at the event would be handled efficiently by president Muhammadu Buhari.
In his opening speech, the chairman of the committee and the former Governor of Edo state, Professor Osariemen Osumbor Said the committee was assigned to interface with the general public on issues that bothers on the unity of the country and chat a way forward.
He said the ruling APC is committed to bringing government closer to the people and called on Nigerians to join hands with president Muhammadu Bihari in order to achieve the feat.
