Nigeria @ 57 Buhari has made significant achievements- Gov Abubakar

Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar of Bauchi State has said that the Buhari administration has, despite numerous challenges, recorded some remarkable achievements within the last two years of its inception.

“57years is a significant ‎milestone in a nation’s life cycle, it has keep Nigeria as one country since independence which is a great achievement despite the challenges the nation had faced in the past and the ones it is facing at present,” the governor noted.

Governor Mohammed made the remark in a speech on Sunday to mark the country’s 57th independence anniversary.

He said: “Within the last 57 years, this country has had its ups and downs. Such is however to be expected in any country that is struggling to attain a nationhood. Some of our greatest achievements are our ability to keep the country as one indivisible entity and the entrenchment of democratic rule through successive elections without any military intervention which span a period of eighteen years. This indeed is an important achievement and is an indication of paradigm shift.”

Abubakar who pointed out that the 57th Independence anniversary is coming halfway into the life of the Buhari’s administration observed that despite challenges; the President has recorded some laudable achievements within the last two years.

The governor added that, “the APC led administration in the country has within this period ‎made significant achievement in the areas of security, healthcare delivery, education and tackling unemployment as well as provision of infrastructure, human capital development and the fight against corruption which brought some sanity in the system.”

He informed that the APC administration in Bauchi State has also recorded some achievements within the same period saying that the areas which his administration recorded the achievements include; security, healthcare delivery, education, youths and women empowerment, provision of infrastructure and other areas.

“We intend to do more in these and other areas so that our people will continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy. My administration is committed to protection of lives and properties of all Bauchi State citizens and residents,” he assured.

The governor who noted that Bauchi State is the most peaceful and safest state in the North East attributed it to the peaceful disposition of the state, adding that the state has been home to a good number of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) who were dislodged from their hometowns as a result of the insurgency that ravaged some parts of the North East region.
