Niger State government , PDP differs on safety of the state for investment

Niger State government and the main opposition People Democratic Party (PDP) have disagreed on the safety of the state for investment.

The opposition was of the opinion that governor Mohammed Umar Bago should take the blamed of his failure to do enough in ensuring security of lives and properties as well the safety of investments due to continuous insecurity in several communities and the state capital.

This was the position of Niger North Zone C People’s Democratic Party PDP Zonal Vice Chairman, Alhaji Yahaya Ability while fielding questions from newsman in Minna.

He described as very unfortunate for voting a leader who does not care about the welfare, wellbeing and lives of the people but only interested in structural development under huge unaccountable loans.

Ability lamented over the current increase in the rate of insecurity bedeviling the state under the present All Progressives Congress APC leadership who has nothing to offer in the interest of the citizens but disabuse of office being experienced.

Said he, “we should not expect any investor, nobody will come to invest here in Niger state, the governor should just tackle the Insecurity because even the state capital is not safe, they are wasting their time because everybody is aware of the situation in Niger state”.

The Zonal Vice Chairman who sounds optimistic noted that with the People’s Democratic Party PDP on the corridors of power the interest of the people are given much more priority but contrary was the case since the APC took over powers as hardship, insecurity and alleged looting have continued to escalate in the state and Nigeria at large.

Alhaji Ability further expressed dismay over the inability of governor Bago led administration and other elected leaders to pay a sympathy visit to the victims of bandits and Boko Haram insurgents called for reversal of such non concern attitude on the part of government.

He revealed that about 5 local government areas like Shiroro, Munya, Rafi, Paikoro, Mariga and Wushishi are under attacks consistently while some others periodically witnessed attack including Chanchaga the seat of government not safe making the citizens hopeless in governance.

The PDP stalwart stated that it is worrisome for the state government to destroy over 200 farmers crops in Mariga, Kampanin Bobi and Durgu which he described as inhuman, heartless, wickedness and uncalled for however advised governor Bago to find appropriate solution without delay.

He than called on the electorates to have a rethink by voting out the current APC led government at all levels come 2027 in order to regain the lost glory of peace and tranquility as well as economic stability of Niger state where everyone will benefit from government opportunities.
