Niger Gov’s wife to conduct free cancer surgery on 500 women

Wife of the Niger state governor Dr. Amina Abubakar has disclosed that her foundation will treat catholic women suffering from cancer free of charge.
She made this assurance on Sunday during the harvest and Bazaar sales at the St. Michaels Catholic Cathedral Church, Minna.
Represented by Emilly Chidawa, Dr. Amina Sani Bello said the rising cases of Breast and Cervical Cancers among women in the nation is alarming.
“We will conduct free screening on atleast 500 women, and we will ensure the free treatment of any with cancer amongst them.
“There will be a 3 day free medical screening by the RAiSE foundation at the Breast and Cervical Screening Centre in Minna. I am more concerned about the health of women and children and this has informed the decision to embark on the exercise.”
While urging women within the state capital and outside to present themselves for the exercise, Dr. Amina said, “after these 3 day free screening, it will attract the sum of N7,000 for any woman comes to the Centre to be screened. I strongly belief that prevention is better than cure.”
In his remarks, the Bishop of Minna Diocese, Rt. Rev Uzoukwu thanked the governor’s wife and prayed for the government adding that there is need for Nigerians to continually pray for leaders in position.
