New Enugu CP reads riot act to officers, residents

 The Enugu State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Emmanuel Ojukwu, on Monday, revealed that a high-powered investigative team had been dispatched to Nimbo by the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase, to unravel the causes of the killing of several people by herdsmen.
The police commissioner also spoke on a need to reduce crime and criminality in the state by ensuring that communities and their environs were made safe and secured.
Ojukwu stated this at the Enugu State Police Headquarters, on the occasion of his maiden address of Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and other Heads of Department in the Command, urged officers to embrace the full tenets of community policing, which included partnership, openness, accountability and respect for human rights and working diligently to restore public confidence.
He however expressed sadness over the recent loss of lives and property at Nimbo in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area.
