New dawn for Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa sworn in as President

Emmerson Mnangagwa is Zimbabwe’s new president after he was inaugurated in the capital, Harare.

The ceremony took place in a crowded National Sports Stadium where gun salutes took place.

Mnangagwa is the southern African nation’s second leader and takes over from Robert Mugabe, who resigned after a near-bloodless coup, ending his 37-year rule.
