Ndukwe gets gaffe’s support over Lobi draw

Remo Stars goalkeeper Chizoba Ndukwe has been exonerated from any blame in his team’s 1-1 draw with Lobi Stars in a Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match played on Sunday.

It was Ndukwe’s error from failing to clutch on to a shot that led to Anthony Okpotu stamping in the rebound at the Gateway Stadium in Sagamu to draw Lobi level four minutes into the restart.

However, Remo Stars head coach, Fatai Osho, feels that the stopper should not be singled out for their failure to defeat Lobi Stars.
He added that he is satisfied with the performance of his team despite dropping points at home.

“A football team is like a system where everyone works for each other. So you can’t single out one player for an error. We should own that we are all at fault and we are not holding any individual for what happened. I am impressed with how my team played against an experienced team,” said Osho on Monday.
Osho played down talks of being under pressure after Remo Stars dropped points against Lobi.

“I am not under pressure after failing to win against Lobi. What happened to us was a big motivation for my team. We were very dominant against Lobi Stars,” he said.
Osho earlier this month joined Remo Stars on a second spell after the club and Nduka Ugbade parted ways and he has the task of keeping the Sky Blue Stars in the Nigerian top flight.
