NDLEA To Recruit more personnel to boost fight against drug abuse

The National Chairman Drug and Law enforcement agency NDLEA Alh Muhammad Abdallah has revealed that preparations are under way to recruit more personnel to boost the fight against drug abuse in the country.

Abdallah stated that the agency for quite some time, suffers from inadequate manpower among many other challenges but with the presidential directives to recruit ten thousand personnel this year it is hoped that great achievement would be recorded.

” as someone with a military background, what I know is when you give a task, you provide the equipments needed to carry out that task but the problem with NDLEA is that we are given a task but the necessary components needed to carry out the task effectively are not adequately provided for the past 27 years that the agency has been created”

Abdallah said that the Kano command has been doing well over the years and it is believed that it would continue to do its best in the fight against drug abuse in the country.

“I’m optimistic that solutions to the problem would be found in Kano looking at how all the relevant agencies are working in synergy to curtail the further spread of cases of drug abuse”
