NCPC to build prayer camp in Israel – Rev Uja

*Prays for general election in Nigeria

The Executive Secretary, Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC) Rev. Uja Tor Uja has revealed that the commission has concluded all arrangement to build a prayer complex in the holy Land, Israel. The Commission along with the entire pilgrims also held a prayer section for the success of next month’s general elections in Nigeria. It also prayed God to bring an end to the killings in the country as well as to rescue those still in captivity of Boko Haram terrorists. Uja Tor Uja disclosed that in its bid to encourage spiritual activities of Pilgrims in the holy land, the complex would enable Nigerians who embark on pilgrimage have a specific place of worship in the holy land. The Executive Secretary who spoke in Jerusalem during the 2018 pilgrimage described camp as a “kingdom heritage investment”, called on Nigerians to invest in the project saying; “The church needs to think of how to invest its strength in bringing back the glory of the country”. He said the camp will not be built for prayers alone but for other social activities to make Nigerians feel relaxed in the holy land expressing hope that with the collaboration of the commission, the Church and other relevant stakeholders in Nigeria, the complex will be built with ease. Uja urged the leaders to sensitise and encourage people on the essence of Christian pilgrimage, adding that it transcends beyond spiritual aspects but also help in building nationalistic spirit. He explained that pilgrimage helps in work ethics and encourages the development of productive capacity through skills acquisition, especially for the youths. Commenting on the benefit of the complex, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) commissioner in the FCT, Rev. Israel Akanji said the heritage camp will boost the spiritual upliftment of pilgrims while in Israel and also make Nigerians have the sense of belonging in the holy land. Rev. Akanji said: “I am happy the NCPC is thinking towards this direction, because when you have an establishment in a foreign land, it means you are also part of that country”. Speaking during the prayer sessions in Jerusalem, the executive secretary Rev Tor Uja, called on pilgrims to leverage on the pilgrimage exercise and pray for themselves, leaders and the country. Uja also urged pilgrims to pray for the country’s leadership especially President Muhammadu Buhari. He said, “Only the Nigerian Church has the capacity to change the world because God has placed Nigerians among other nations that is why we need to lead the way. Let us go back and promote oneness in our nation.” He urged the youths to shun politicians who would want to use them as thugs during the elections.
