Numana Community Development Organisation (NCDO) yesterday slammed the Chairman of Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Hon. Charles Danladi, over a comment credited to him alleging a decision by the people of Numana not to support the candidature of the All Progressives Candidate (APC), governorship candidate in Kaduna State.
The NCDO General Secretary, Mbachi Jonathan Adams, in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja said the LG Boss while addressing a mammoth crowd at the APC rally, in Gwantu, was quoted to have alleged that the Numana ethnic group has held a meeting and resolved not to support the governorship candidate of the APC in Kaduna State, Malam Nasir Ahmed el-Rufai and his running mate, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, in the forthcoming elections.
He noted that after a careful investigation conducted by NCDO the umbrella body of the Numana ethnic group, it was however discovered that there was no meeting held anywhere, let alone any such resolution at any point in time by any segment of our people.
The statement reads in part: “The allegation is therefore false and a figment of the imagination of Hon. Charles Danladi.
“The NCDO, therefore, dissociates itself from such grievous allegation and pray that the Sanga Local Government Chairman, Hon. Charles Danladi, will be honourable enough to retract the statement and apologise to our people.”
He therefore, called on the people of Numana, the APC and all well-meaning Nigerians to disregard the assertion made by the Sanga local government chairman as it is baseless and has no substance.
“There is no doubt, the running mate to the Kaduna State governorship candidate of the APC, Dr. Hadiza Balarebe, is our daughter and we are proud of her, therefore, in the forthcoming elections, our people know exactly where their interest will be better protected as far as Kaduna state is concerned. ” he said
The NCDO, therefore, calls on the Numana ethnic group and entire residents of Sanga Local Government Area to remain calm, peaceful and come out en-masse and vote in the forthcoming general elections.
