Navy Personnel charged to be spiritual inclined – Chief of Naval Staff

The Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok Ete Ibas, has charged men and officers of the Central Naval Command to be conscious of their spiritual life to enable them render quality service, adding that it will help in discharging their mandate effectively.

Speaking Yesterday during the special dedication of the Central Naval Command chapel at the central naval command premises in Yenagoa, the state capital.

The CNS enjoined them to make judicious use of the well equipped multi purpose inter-dominational worship center, noting that the edifice is meant to provide convenient for worship, and enhance activities of the Naval chaplain which contributes so much to the Nigerian Naval.

Represented by Commodore J.D. Akpan, he said “In my view, places of worship are important and vital for the integral part of our operations. In discharging our mandate effectively has three component which is the mental, spiritual and critical, the spiritual is critical because man is made up of the body, soul and spirit”

While commending the personnel for their cooperation for making the dream of the command come true, he noted that thus dedication will spur them towards achieving greater results.

Also he clarified the issue that the building has been commissioned some time ago but the spiritual aspect of dedication was the essence ceremony, adding that the vital part of all military formation is the spiritual aspect.

In his brief, the deputy Governor of Bayelsa state, Rear Admiral John Jonah, urged them to make effective use of the building so as to reflect in their operations and family, adding that the place is not just meant for gathering but a place for worship.

He also noted that when men build and dedicate the santuary to God for the worship of his name, a nation has been built, adding that the place us to nurture the souls of men for God and service to humanity.
