NASS shifts resumption date for lawmakers by one week

The management of National Assembly has shifted the date of resumption of lawmakers from their annual recess by one week.

The management did not give any reason it shifted resumption for the lawmakers, although the development may not be unconnected with the ongoing reonovation of the entire National Assembly Complex which began shortly after the lawmakers went on break.

The complex has started wearing a new look owing to intensive renovation work already carried out, just as all department have now been adequately illuminated.
The lawmakers were initially billed to resume on September 19, whereas they are now to resume on September 26, 2017.

The Clerk to the National Assembly, Mr. Mohammed Sani-Omolori, announce the postponement of lawmaker’s resumption in a statement he issued and made available to newsmen on Wednesday.

The Statement titled, ‘Postponement of Resumption read, “This is to inform all distinguished senators and honourable members of the National Assembly, of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, that the resumption date of both Houses in plenary has been rescheduled from Tuesday September 19, 2017 to Tuesday 26th September 2017.
“All distinguished senators and honourable members are by this notice requested to resume sitting in plenary on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 10am prompt, please.”
