NASS Service Tenure Extension:Leave the Clerk to the National Assembly Alone

The Coalition of Civil Society Groups for Peace, Security, Good Governance,Equity and Justice has debunked the false narratives in some certain quarters that Mr Sani Magaji Tambuwal,Clerk to the National Assembly was behind the Service Tenure Extension Bill which was recently passed by the House of Representatives and now before the Senate for concurrence.

In a press statement made available to journalists in Abuja by the national coordinator, Comrade James Okoronkwo,the group stated the NASS Service Tenure Extension Bill which seeks the extension of the retirement age of the staff of the National Assembly Service from 60 to 65 years of age and from 35 to 40 years in service whichever is earlier is the brain- child of the National Assembly Workers’Union under the aegis of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria( PASAN).

The ground urged media practitioners to always verify their information before publication.

The Coalition of Civil Society Groups for Peace, Security,Good Governance, Equity and Justice recalls that as the Director ( Budget) ,Mr Sani Magaji Tambuwal enhanced the transparency in budgets of the National Assembly saying the ” the CNA is a transparent technocrat and thorough- bred professional committed to promotion of democracy and good governance in Nigeria.

Concluding ,the group passed a vote of confidence on his transparent leadership of the National Assembly ,be urging him not to distracted by fifth columnists and their sponsors.
