NANS appeals to Nigerians to support fight against COVID-19
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has urged Nigerians to support the federal and state governments in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
National Public Relations Officer of the association, Azeez Adeyemi, made the call in a statement on Friday in Abeokuta.
Adeyemi said that the fight against the spread of the virus should not be left in the hands of governments alone, adding that it is important for the citizens to give maximum support to government efforts.
The NANS spokesman said that everybody should adhere strictly to all the measures put in place by the federal and state governments, noting that it was the only way to prevent or minimise the spread of the disease.
Adeyemi urged the citizens to comply with the rules and regulations laid down by the government and also maintain personal hygiene.

He commended the government’s decision on the closure of schools across the country to curtail the spread of the virus, saying that the decision was in the best interest of the students.
“We urge all the students in the country to obey the federal and the Ogun state and other state governments order on the closure of schools and stay at home until it is safe to reopen schools again.
“Coronavirus crisis is a global pandemic and not only Ogun or Nigeria alone; it should not be toyed with. It is our belief that all hands must be on deck to fight this deadly coronavirus,” he said.
