Mystery Fire Kills Kano INEC Commissioner, Wife, Two Children

Kano State  Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Alhaji Munkaila Abdullahi was found dead in the early hours of Friday in a mysterious fire outbreak that burnt down his whole house.

Confirming the incident, the Kano State Police Public Relations Officer, Magaji Musa Majia, said that preliminary investigation showed that the commissioner, his two children and wife died as a result of the smoke they inhaled from the fire.

According to him, the deceased and his family were found in the toilet with him clutching one of his daughters to his chest.

Police men broke into the house to rescue them but it was already late as they were pronounced dead at the Murtala Muhammad Specialist hospital.

He said that the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained
