Molested United Airline Passenger Settled

Attorneys for the man who was dragged off a United flight say an “amicable settlement” has been reached between their client and the airline.

In a statement released early Thursday afternoon, the attorneys for David Dao said a condition of the settlement includes a provision that the amount remain confidential. They note that the condition was agreed upon by both the attorneys and their client.

Attorney Thomas Demetrio, who represents the 69-year-old, praised United CEO Oscar Munoz in the statement:

“Mr. Munoz said he was going to do the right thing, and he has. In addition, United has taken full responsibility for what happened on Flight 3411, without attempting to blame others including the city of chicago. For this acceptance of corporate accountability, United is to be applauded”

The settlement was reached on the same day that United Airlines announced multiple positive changes to improve customer service.

Dao was dragged off a flight in Chicago April 9 by airport police after he refused to give up his seat on the full plane to make room for crew members.
