Mo’ Abudu, Racheal Oniga others step out for ‘Royal Hibiscus Hotel ‘Media premiere
Following the success recorded at the Toronto Film festival where the movie was first screened; recently, stakeholders and members of the press showed up for the screening of the charming new romantic comedy, The Royal Hibiscus Hotel.
The event which was well-attended has the presence of top personalities that includes, executive producer Mo Abudu of EbonyLife Films, cast members Kenneth Okolie, Rachel Oniga, Deyemi Okanlawon, Lala Akindoju, and director Ishaya Bako amongst others.
The movie which is expected to be released in February, 2018 tells the story of Ope (Played by Zainab Balogun), an aspiring chef in London, who returns to Nigeria to revive her parents’ ‘dying’ hotel, where she’s wooed by a wealthy investor (Kenneth Okolie) who wants to buy the hotel.
Speaking at the press brief, the Mo’Abudu disclosed that as part of Ebonylife contributions to the entertainment industry; it is imperative to make not just a quality movie but a material people can relate and learn from. ‘I am super excited that come Feb. 2018 when the movie will hit cinemas across the country; we would again make the box-office list’ she said.
Audience reactions ranged from, “The movie was perfect” and “I really liked it” to “Rachel Oniga’s character was my favourite.” Other comments about the technical aspects of the production were complimentary about the camera angles and how great Lagos looks in the film.
On playing the unusual role, veteran actress, Racheal Oniga noted that what sets you apart from others is your ability to interpret any given role and come out perfect with it and that she has done with her role in the movie.
