Mistaken Identity: Cultists vow to avenge death of member as police declare Friday Stanley wanted for murder

Pandemonium erupted in a remote community in Benin City as rival cult groups engaged each other in a violent attack leading to the death of one of the cultists as the Edo State Command of the Nigerian.

Police declared one Friday Stanley wanted over his alleged murder of a middle age man (name withheld), suspected to be an Eiye Confraternity member during a recent cult clash.

Also, the fierce cult rivalry between the Neo Black Movement (NBM) also known as Black-Axe Confraternity and Eiye Confraternity on April 13th, 2015 which led to onlookers scampering for safety, according to information made available, resulted in the members of the Eiye Confraternity also declaring one Friday Stanley wanted dead or alive .

An eye-witness who craved anonymity said that on April 13th, 2015 Friday Stanley and his friend simply identified as Lucky were returning from work when they unsuspectingly ran into a large group of fearsome-looking men suspected to be cultists who have made the Benin City metropolis unbearable for residents in recent times.

It was gathered that the rival cult groups which had been long.drawn into a battle of supremacy between them were reported to have engaged each other in fierce sporadic gun battle shooting as residents and passerby scampered for safety after a member of the Eiye Confraternity was allegedly gunned down in the attack.

It was said that, members of the Eiye Confraternity instantly chased after Stanley who reportedly ran to escape from the scene of the gun battle as he was erroneously taken as one of the members of the Black-Axe who reportedly shot their member to death.

Following his sudden escape from the scene, the members of the Eiye Confraternity who vowed that they will not rest in their manhunt for him until they find him and sniff life out of him, it was gathered, trailed him down to a house in the community but were informed that Friday Stanley was not an occupant of the said house.

In view of the national and geographical spread of these dangerous cult groups in Nigeria and the reported threats which members of the Eiye Confraternity released, it was said that some faceless individuals were reportedly seen parading the community in search of Friday Stanley who many described as a hard working man as he reportedly abandoned his work and fled from the community to escape the violent wrath of the group to an unknown destination.

Meanwhile, confirmed reports in the community revealed that the angry cultists were eventually able to spot and locate Stanley’s house where they wrecked havock by destroying all of his personal property and unleashed mayhem on other occupants after they gathered he was not around, a situation which further prompted police intervention.

However, a statement by the Edo State Command of the Nigerian Police said the police had commenced preliminary investigation into a cult rivalry between Eiye Confraternity and Black-axe Confraternity which led to the death one member of the Eiye Confraternity on April 13th 2015 .

According to the stament made available to journalists in Benin City, one Friday Stanley who is presently at large was said to have been responsible for the murder of one of the cultists, and is said to be declared wanted by the police .

Meanwhile, confirmed reports in the community revealed that his house had been completely abandoned for fear of possible attack on his life as his immediate whereabout remain unknown to anyone in the community.
