My mission is to restore hope to residents of Orile-Agege LCDA, says council chair

Chairman, Orile-Agege Local Council Development Area (LCDA), in Lagos State, Sunday Babatunde has presented his scorecard of his achievements, as he marked his first 100 days in office.
In his welcome address at the event, the chairman said it is a journey to renew, rebuild and restore adding that the occasion was to thank God for His mercies as well as to give account of stewardship to the electorates that voted him into power.
“The people voted us because they believed in our capability to transform Orile-Agege. The slogan; To Renew, Rebuild and Restore being our watchword has been propelling this administration to go the extra mile in providing amenities to ease the tension of the people of Orile Agege,” he said.
According to him, on his first port of call was a familiarization tour of police stations under the council area to partner all security agencies to combat rising hooliganism and criminality in Orile Agege and its environs because the area is faced with security challenges.
Highlighting some of his achievements, Babatunde said his administration’s focus was to upgrade the environmental standard of the five markets in Orile Agege and within 100 days his administration has been able to provide slaughter slab and perimeter fence for the Abibat Mogaji Market, being the only market that slaughters and offers the sale of pork meat within the area.
In the area of education, the chairman said his administration has made it a point of duty to visit all public primary schools in the area to know their basic needs and requests and has embarked on provision and renovation of toilet and re-roofing to some of the schools, adding that the campaign on Public Private Partnership has manifested as two blocks of classrooms were commissioned at Ibido and Ideal primary schools.
“This renovation was done by a non- governmental organisation, Budhrani Charitable Trust to support in ensuring pupils learn in a conducive and cozy environment. The Tailoring and Catering sections of vocational centre was also renovated and equipped for effective service delivery,” he said.
Others include roads and infrastructure which entails the construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of community roads and other amenities, also construction of bore holes powered with generators in all six political wards of the LCDA to provide clean and drinkable water for community use so as to prevent water borne diseases.
