MINISTER OPTIMISTIC OF AN IMPROVED TOURISM SECTOR

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed says it is time to take the Tourism Sector of the country to a greater height that will revamp the economy.

He made this known at the Inauguration of the Technical committee on the review of the master plan on Tourism.

The Technical Master plan Committee on Tourism comprises of the Interior Ministry, Information, Tourism and Culture, National Planning and other relevant National Associations.

The Committee seeks to review the master plan, update and resuscitate it to enhance the effort of the Buhari – led Administration in diversifying the economy to possibly be a foreign exchange earner.

The Minister also adds that by the plan of the Ministry, Tourism will come to the centre and be the driving force of the economy.

He adds that it is time to take it on board by creating synergy and structure to make tourism grounded and profitable in Nigeria.

The Inauguration of the Technical Committee on the review of the master plan is described as a sector that is inclusive. The Committee is expected to return with a report on the 4th of December 2016.
