Microsoft Gives Olatomiwa Williams New Regional Role in M/East, Africa

After four impactful years as Country General Manager for Microsoft Nigeria and Ghana, Olatomiwa Williams is stepping into a new regional leadership role as Chief Growth & AI Officer for Middle East and Africa Growth Markets.

Her transition marks a significant milestone in her career and signals Microsoft’s ongoing commitment to advancing innovation and growth across the continent.

In a message announcing her new role, Williams reflected on her time leading the Nigeria and Ghana operations, describing it as a period defined by innovation, resilience, and collective success.

She expressed deep gratitude to her team, partners, and leaders, crediting them for helping shape a transformative journey marked by remarkable achievements and meaningful impact.

“This chapter has been profoundly rewarding. Together, we’ve created lasting impact and built a legacy of innovation and collaboration,” she said.

Stepping into her previous position is Abideen Yusuf, who has been named Country Manager for Microsoft Nigeria and Ghana. Williams described Yusuf as a key player in their shared successes and expressed full confidence in his leadership and vision for the future.

“Deen’s passion, dedication, and deep understanding of our mission make him the perfect choice to carry the torch forward,” she added.

Williams also extended appreciation to Microsoft leaders including Lillian Barnard, Samer Abu-Ltaif, Naim Yazbeck, Mark Chaban, and Tariq Halawani for their trust and support throughout her journey.

Looking ahead, she will work closely with Mirna Arif and the wider Middle East and Africa Growth Country teams to advance Microsoft’s mission in her new role.
