A twenty-seven-year-old man, identified as Yomi Ademola, was in the early hours of Saturday killed by suspected political thugs in Ikirun, headquarters of Ifelodun Local Government Area of Osun State.

Ademola was reportedly killed at the premises of the Holy Trinity Primary School, Oke-Afo, Ikirun by unidentified hoodlums.
It was gathered that an argument had ensued between the
deceased and some politicians in his ward 01 before he was killed.

Ademola was said to be a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

It was learnt that the deceased was shot in the head twice.

A source in Ikirun, however, hinted that the deceased had defected to
the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before his brutal killing.

The source also added that Ademola was killed because of his romance
with a leading politician in the area.

The death of Ademola almost caused pandemonium in the town, but for
the timely efforts of security agents.

Efforts to get the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the
state Police command, Mrs Sade Odoro for comments proved abortive.
