A middle-aged man, Mr Onyedikachi Emmanuel Okafor has been declared wanted by men of the State Police Command and the Nigerian Military over his alleged involvement in a clash between security forces and members of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
According to the Military and Nigeria police force, “He is one of the notorious leaders of the illegal group, IPOB. under the guise of demanding release of Nnamdi Kanu, they are constituting nuisance to the Nigerian society.
“Already, the group has been outlawed, so anyone that is a member is offending the law.”
Meanwhile, information available to our correspondent revealed that Emmanuel escaped arrest when a combined team of security operatives stormed his late father’s compound on 22nd of July 2023 they raided his house, but he was nowhere to be found.
“He escaped from lawful arrest, and we have been on his trail since then.
“There was a joint operation to arrest Emmanuel Okafor on the 22nd of July 2023 and other suspected members of his village, among whom are Okechukwu Olisa, Maduka Okoye and Christian Maduagwu, but he escaped,” the cop stated, adding that a manhunt for him was in the process.
Meanwhile, Emmanuel’s Cousin brother, Mr Christian Okafor has described the operation carried out by security agencies in their family house as unprovoked.
While lamenting that Emmanuel wife was shot dead during the raid, he urged human rights organisations to help them get justice.
He narrated that: “They came to our house in the broad day light and started shooting sporadically, shouting that they were security agencies.
“His wife was unluckily shot while she was trying to come out of her room.
“They came looking for my cousin brother, Emmanuel, who they claimed is an IPOB member, of course which was not true in all ramifications.
“My Cousin Onyedikachi (Oga Emma) have not been seen since then as he ran away from where he was working at His Royal Majesty IGWE FIDELIS NSIEGBU.”
