Man cries out as police declare nephew wanted over IPOB

Chioma Ojike, Enugu

A man, Mr Chris Nwankwo has cried out after the police declared his nephew, Ozor Chimezie Moses wanted over IPOB related activities.

Nwankwo, who spoke to journalists at the Enugu Press Centre, linked the development to a piece of land left behind by the late Dan Ozor Daniel, Moses’s father.

According to him, Moses is the only son of his sister, who was married to Ozor Daniel.

He accused Moses’ uncle, one Ozor Leonard, of framing up Moses, in order to take over the piece of land.

He lamented that Moses was declared wanted for allegedly being a member of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

It could be recalled that the police had declared Moses and three others wanted over their alleged membership of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

However, his maternal uncle, Mrs Nwankwo, who spoke to our journalists, said his sister’s son was not an IPOB member.

Nwankwo said, “They want to take over the only land left behind by my sisters and her husband; they have an only son, Ozor Chimezie Moses.

“But ever since the couple died in mysterious circumstances, his uncle, Ozor Leonard, has been doing everything to take over the land located at a very strategic location.

“Even after my nephew cultivated the land, his uncle destroyed the crops.

“He did not stop at that but now connived with the police to declare him wanted as an IPOB member.

“Surprisingly, he has his way by bribing the vigilante group and my son was named as one of the IPOB commanders. Their plan is to ensure that he is incarcerated for life, if not killed.”

He recalled that “truck loads of security agencies stormed the house looking for Ozor Chimezie Moses.

“They brought down the entrance doors without hesitation, it was indeed a hellish experience, but it was a miracle that Moses escaped.

Nwankwo further lamented that “a few days later, it was all over the news that my nephew, Moses was declared wanted by security agencies for being IPOB leader.

“I can vouch that Moses is not into any form of criminal activity. I’m begging the police to leave him alone.

“This is all about family disputes; it’s all about his uncle fighting to take over his inheritance.”
