Malle wins APC ticket for Federal Constituency bye-election in Taraba

A former federal lawmaker in Taraba State, Hon. Aminu Ibrahim Malle has won the All Progressive Congress (APC) primary election for the February 3rd House of Representatives Bye Election for Jalingo, Yorro and Zing Federal Constituency of the state.
Announcing the results of a keenly contested delegates’ election held late Saturday at the Gymnastics Hall of the Jolly Nyame Stadium Jalingo, the Chairman, APC National Assembly Primary Bye Election Committee for Taraba State, Alh. Lawal Samaila Abdullahi said Ibrahim Aminu Malle polled a total number of 41 votes to emerge victorious.
Abdullahi further said, Bilyaminu Umar scored 29 votes, Abdulmumuni Hamza got 26 votes, Engr. Mohammed Alkali, 13 votes while Kasimu Maigari got no vote.
He disclosed that the total number of delegates from the three local governments of Jalingo, Yorro and Zing were One Hundred and Fifty Five (155), accredited voters were One Hundred and Nine (109) while the total number of votes cast were also One Hundred and Nine (109).
“Based on the powers conferred on me by our Party at the National Headquarters, as enshrined in the Guidelines, I declare as follows”,
“That Ibrahim Aminu Malle, having satisfied the requirements of the Law and scored the highest number of Votes cast is hereby declared the Winner and returned elected as the Candidate of APC for Jalingo, Yorro, Zing Federal Constituency election slated for February this year”, he said.
Alh. Abdullahi also called on the other aspirants to join hands with the winner for the success of APC during the election.
Fielding questions from journalists shortly, Hon. Malle appreciated the media for the resilience in monitoring the election from the beginning to the end, APC’s National and State Working Committees for doing a good job and the delegates for finding him worthy.

Malle, who said the peaceful and transparent nature of the exercise was owing to the calibre of personnel that came from the party’s National Headquarters, Abuja added that his other contestants had congratulated him and pledged to work for the success of the party in the general election.

Two among the contestants, Engr. Mohammed Alkali and Bilyaminu Umar, who told reporters that the election was free, fair and transparent also pledged to liaise with Malle to make sure APC wins the election.
Daily Times reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) fixed a bye election in the State following the demise of Hon. Ismaila Yushau Maihanci of PDP who represented the Federal Constituency at the National Assembly.
