LUTH doctors get new exco

The Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba chapter of the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD-LUTH) has elected new executives to run its affairs for the 2016/2017 executive year.

The new elected executives are; Dr. Sekumade Adebayo, President; Dr. Ojo Femi, Vice President; Dr. Oba Fatai, General Secretary; Dr. Makinde Kayode, Assistant General Secretary; D.r Osuntokun Temitope, Financial Secretary; Dr. Ewedemi Folashade, Treasurer and Dr. Akiije Adedeji, Social Secretary.

 Following the association’s Health Week/ Annual General Meeting/Scientific Conference with the theme: “Leaving no one behind, the sustainable development goals in Nigeria and how healthcare can get us there, there were opportunities for interactions among the members.”

The association organised an extensive community outreach in Idi-Araba community, where the beneficiaries’ blood pressure, blood sugar, weight and height were checked. The parameters are effective to screen for hypertension, diabetes mellitus and obesity for about 150 beneficiaries.

The doctors also donated about 50 pints of blood to the blood bank of LUTH for hospital patients in dire need of blood, e.g., accident victims, mass casualties etc.
