London Paris Club Refund: NLC end feud with Plateau Govt

The Plateau state chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), on Thursday said it has shelve its sword with the Plateau State Government for settling outstanding salaries of workers and over eight months owed pensioner’s in the state.

NLC said the relationship between it and the state government came to its lowest due to lack of understanding or better still deliberate Government policy to frustrate NLC and its affiliates.

Speaking during a press briefing with newsmen in Jos the Plateau State Capital, the NLC Chairman, Comrade Jibrin Bancir, laud Governor Simon Lalong for the prudent utilization of bail-out funds and Paris Club refund for the said purpose and the release of promotion to deserving workers across the state service.

Mr. Bancir urge the Governor to continue with its efforts in the sustenance of payment of salaries and pension in other to consolidate on the gains made so far in the state and also to consider the payment of accumulated gratuity to retirees to alleviate their hardship and boost the economy.

The workers umpire also appeal to government to approve and commence the Housing Scheme promised civil servants by providing land and infrastructure to reduce the shelter need of the work force and reconstitute all service commissions to facilitate the service of all pending service matters.

NLC advised Lalong to consolidate on the achievements gained and encouraged him to fast track the implementation of other outstanding issues and agreements.
