Pre-season Manchester derby cancelled

The hotly anticipated pre-season meeting between Jose Mourinho’s Man United and Pep Guardiola’s Man City has been cancelled. Mourinho vs Guardiola is set to be a standout rivalry in this season’s Premier League, with the two managers in close proximity for the first time since their days in charge of Real Madrid and Barcelona. The International Champions Cup offered fans a first glimpse of their rivalry, but torrential rain in Beijing has rendered the pitch at the Bird’s Nest Stadium unplayable.

Burnley ban fan for racist abuse

Burnley have given an indefinite club ban to a supporter who was ejected from Saturday’s friendly against Bradford City for shouting racist abuse at a player for the League One club. No action has been taken against a second man who voluntarily left the stadium in connection with the incident. West Yorkshire Police are investigating the incident, which was strongly criticised on social media by Burnley striker Andre Gray, who scored twice.
