Lionel Messi set to marry on June 30
Lionel Messi is set to marry his fiancée Antonella Roccuzzo in their native Argentina this summer.
The Barcelona forward will tie the knot on June 30 in the suburb of Arroyo Seco in the pair’s hometown of Rosario in north-eastern Argentina.
Messi and Roccuzzo have been together for almost a decade and they will marry just a few days after the forward celebrates his 30th birthday. They will also have a second ceremony in for 600 guests at the ‘9 reinas’ restaurant in Barcelona, according to reports.
The couple first met in Rosario as children through Messi’s close friend and Roccuzzo’s cousin Lucas Scaglia.
They began dating in 2008 and already have two children, four-year-old Thiago and Mateo, two. Roccuzzo and the two children were at the Nou Camp for Barcelona’s 4-1 win over Villarreal on May 6.
Messi’s future at the Catalan club remains uncertain, however. The forward is yet to sign a new deal, having reportedly turned down an offer which would have seen him bag between €30million (£25.2m) and €35m (£29m) a year.
