Layer3 highlights Data Analytics’ potential to MDAs

Layer3, the company that boasts of tailor-made solutions for its clients, recently highlighted the potential of harnessing the value of big data, especially for government’s Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

The company demonstrated the potential at a workshop, Tagged: “Using Analytics to Drive Change in the Public Sector,” it organized through its new division, Blacksentry, recently in Abuja.

The workshop has, in attendance, heads of government’s MDAs, as well as, representatives from the defense headquarters, other security agencies and the armed forces.

Speaking at the workshop, which was co-sponsored by SAS Technologies, the global leader in big data and analytics, the Director General of National Identity Management Commission, Engr. Aliyu A. Aziz educated the participants on the importance and the great potential of harnessing the value of big data existing in these agencies using analytics.

He emphasized the need for better collaboration amongst the various agencies on data sharing, which will be a means of better efficiency and cost-cutting.

“Collaboration amongst MDAs is stronger now, as we have seen a lot of progress in the harmonization of data in Nigeria,” he said.

Layer3’s CEO, Oyaje Idoko stated: “Data is the new oil; and it’s our hope that the government and its agencies don’t get left behind in harnessing the huge gains that resides in this data.
