Lawyer asks Aregbesola to produce debt profile of Osun

A human rights lawyer, Mr. Kanmi Ajibola, has challenged Governor Rauf Aregbesola to produce information about the debt profile and projects of Osun State.
Ajibola made the request in a letter addressed and sent to the governor on April 11.
The letter was copied to the Speaker, House of Assembly and the State Chief Judge.
The lawyer also asked the governor to produce the list of all the capital projects being executed by his administration since November 26, 2011 till date.
He predicated his request on Freedom of Information Act 2011, insisting that he had the right to request for any information about the activities of the government.
The human rights lawyer, who also alleged that the Osun State government had been deducting contributory percentage from the workers’ salaries and failed to remit the deduction and government’s contributions to the Retirement Savings Account, challenged Aregbesola to produce evidence of the lodgement of the deductions to the pension scheme.
He further demanded information about “financial cost of all the capital projects being executed by the Aregbesola administration.”
