Tunde Opalana, Abuja

The National Conscience Party (NCP) has described the late Muhammed Fawehinmi as an ambassador of peace, unity and justice.

National Chairman of the party , Dr. Yunusa Tanko said the late Muhammed died as a social crusader, an ideal which his father, late Gani Fawehinmi lived and fought.

In a statement Monday by his media adviser, Omole Olusegun, the party chairman said the NCP has lost a very strong personality who believe in the principles and ideology of the party which the late Gani Fawehinmi helped to form.

Dr. Tanko said “the news of Muhammed, Chief Gan’is first son saddened our heart and came when the nation needed him much.

“We lost a strong brother, friend and partner in the struggle.Mohammed was an humble legal practitioner, lover of all that came his way.

“Late Barr. Babatunde Muhammed Fawehinmi was a true son of Gani, detribalized and believed in Nigeria.

“A strong activist and advocate of the emancipation of the poor. Muhammed even in his state of health continued to fight for the poor.

“For some of us who were lucky to be very close to him, we usually watched him how he was able to combine many rare virtues, which makes him a hero.

“He saw his legal calling as a task that must be done the exact way his late father Chief Gani Fawehinmi does and he committed everything that he had into that project until he breathed his last.

“When we lose someone we love, we must learn not to live without them, but to live with the love they left behind”.

“His death has created a vacuum in our party (NCP)”.

The party prayed that Almighty Allah be pleased with his soul and grant him eternal rest.
