Lalong assures corps members of gainfully jobs in Plateau

Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau state has assured the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members that their sojourn in the state will provide them with the opportunity of being gainfully employed.

Lalong stated this on Thursday at the formal opening and swearing-in ceremony of the 2019 batch B stream 1 corps members posted to Plateau state which held at the permanent orientation camp in Mangu Local Government Area.

“The opportunities here are innumerable and with the next level government back on board for a rapid transformation of the state, you will be gainfully engaged and experience a fulfilling service year,” the governor stated.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mrs. Abi Ishaya, the governor tasked the corps members to position themselves as positive and dependable agents of transformation and symbols of national integration and rapid socio-economic development.

“You should build bridges across your origins, regions and backgrounds by living peacefully with your fellow compatriots in order to achieve the desired objectives of the scheme,” Lolong said.

The NYSC state Coordinator, Mrs. Caroline Embu, assured the corps members of their safety, welfare and general well-being, adding that “let me at this point assure you that Plateau state is the place to be as stringent measures have already been put in place to ensure your safety and welfare.”

Embu said a total of 3, 012 corps members registeredfor the batch B orientation camp comprising of 1, 888 male corps members and 1, 124 female corps members.
