The Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture joins millions of Nigerians, especially members of Nollywood, in mourning the passing of veteran actor Charles Olumo Sanyaolu, fondly known as Agbako, who passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024.
In a condolence message, the Ministry expressed that Agbako’s passing represents a significant loss for the entertainment industry and for all who cherished his unique contributions to Nigerian cinema.
“Agbako was more than a Nollywood icon; he was a symbol of cultural pride and artistic excellence. Through his unforgettable performances, he brought humour, resilience, and the vibrancy of Nigerian life to our screens, touching hearts across generations.

“His dedication to the craft enriched our arts and culture, leaving a lasting legacy that will continue to resonate within Nollywood and beyond.
