Lagos Govt hands over power transformer to Nigerian Army
The Lagos state government has assured its residents of improved and community-driven government by ensuring that every resident enjoys the dividends of democracy for a more meaningful livelihood.
Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, Hon. Muslim Folami, made this known during the handing over ceremony of a new 2.5MVA and 33/11KV capacity transformer to the 243 Recce Battalion, Army Barracks, Ibereko in Badagry.
Speaking during the handing over, Hon. Muslim Folami noted that the Barracks requested for the Transformer due to the electricity challenges they were facing in the last two years saying that due to Governor Ambode’s magnanimity, he responded swiftly to ensuring that their electricity was restored without further delay.
He maintained that the State Government had also delivered six different Transformers of various capacities to various Communities adding that 10 Transformers will also be handed over to other communities very soon.
He reiterated that the Transformer will be beneficial to the entire populace within the Barracks and its environs and consequently boost the economy.
In his vote of assurance, he noted that the State Government will not relent in ensuring that all the infrastructural amenities were adequately put in place.
In his remarks on behalf of the Commanding Officer, 243 Recce Battalion, Ibereko, Barracks, Lieutenant Kolo Ibrahim, thanked the State Government for her good work in Lagos by ensuring good standard of living for the citizenry.
He appreciated the State Government for giving the Barracks the Transformer which he said, would solve the issue of electricity challenges which they had faced in the last two years.
Among those who witnessed the handing over were the Director of Power, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Engr. Biola Olowu; Head, Electrical Unit, Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs, Engr. Oluleke Adesalu and Engr. Oshikoya Adebola.
