Lagos Assembly aspirant to sponsor pro-people bills to enhance youths employment

An aspirant into the vacant Eti Osa State Constituency 1 of Lagos State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Oladotun Hassan, has vowed to sponsor a bill “Lagos State Community Development Right Bill ” to provide jobs for teeming youths in the state if elected into the office.

He said the bill is aimed at creating an enabling opportunities for the constituents in Lagos State through their Local Government Council and LCDA by increasing their revenue allocation through a 10 percent reversionary financial profit gains and benefits from all generated funds from the constituencies vis-a-vis tax, Land Use Charge, Land Allocation and Allotment sales and other Internally Generated Revenue of the state.

Hassan made this known when he visited the APC LCDA Secretariat at Shangotedo to intimate the party leaders of his intention to contest the September 16, 2017 bye -election into Eti Osa State Constituency 1.

The bye election is to fill the vacancy created by the demise of Hon. Ademola Kazeem Alimi (Kadeco).

Hassan said the bill if passed into law will create an open door opportunities through a private – public partnership on job creation project, whereby ten percent of the total work force of every domiciled corporate multinational companies within the constituents/ Local Government shall be residents of the immediate community where such companies are located through the confirmation of the individual having Lagos State Residence Cards.

Hassan who is the President of Yoruba Youth Council said if elected he will also sponsor a bill for the creation of a Special Lagos State Transport Fare/ Parks Management Authority which shall control the abysmal price meted on all commuters in Lagos State and rebrand all parks and members of the NURTW/RETAN, as well as creating a rebranded ultra modern motorcycle parks.
