Kebbi NDLEA arrests 184 drug peddlers

The Kebbi State commander of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Sulaiman Jadi has said that the command in one of its operations in the state arrested at least 184 drug dealers and consumers. He made the disclosure at a press briefing in his office in Birnin Kebbi. He added that 2,402.864 kgs of psychotropic substance were recovered from the suspect. Jadi confirmed the successful prosecution of 26 suspects while several others still pending at the Federal High Court Birnin Kebbi. In its efforts to reduce drug demand in the state the commander said that the command regular crackdown on drugs addicts and sellers forced downward drugs demands as it has admitted 18 drug dependants into the rehabilitation center. The commander decried low logistics as bane for a successful drug free Kebbi.
