Kano Pillars chairman Baita not happy with 2016 NPFL season

Kano Pillars chairman, Kabir Baita has rated his club’s performance in the 2015/16 Nigeria Professional Football league (NPFL) season as below average.

The four-time champions failed to make the top three in 2016 and that means the Masu Gida won’t be on the continent next season.

Baita, who was rumoured to have left the Kano outfit reaffirmed his status as the chairman of the club.

“Going forward, we have a lot of plans for Kano Pillars but this may not be the right time to put it out.  To do an over view of the team’s performance last season I’ll say its average.

“The management made sure the needs of the team were consistently met, the coaches were given a free hand to recruit and the right environment was created but the team didn’t deliver on the pitch. So basically I am not happy with where we finished last season.”

Pillars finished seventh on the NPFL 2015/16 season log, a far cry from their performances in the past four seasons.
