Joint Task Force Raid Home of IPOB Leader, Destroy Property As Family Escapes Arrest

Pandemonium erupted in Upper Iweka community in Anambra State when operatives of the joint task force of the Nigerian army and the Anambra State Command of the Nigerian Police raided the private residence of an Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB) leader for his arrest on 8 May 2019 .
Oziegbe Adolor, as an IPOB leader in Upper Iweka in Onitsha, is widely known for staging and organizing several protests which often times have degenerated into violent demonstrations leading to destruction of public property and government infrastructure worth millions of naira in his continued struggle for the actualization of the sovereign state of Biafrra in his community.
Residents of Upper Iweka community were reportedly scampering for safety as the operatives stormed the private residence of Oziegbe Adolor combing everywhere to arrest the wanted IPOB leader.
The apartment of the Onitsha-based IPOB leader, who has been on the wanted-list of the Nigerian government for several offence from treasonable felony to inciting instability in the South-east region, was turned upside down by the operatives shortly after sporadic gunshots were fired in the community to gain access.
His private residence at 175 Upper Iweka in Awka Anambra State, according to information made available, came under invasion of the joint task force several minutes after the IPOB leader with his partner Princesss Isibor and their 2 children reportedly left home to attend a social engagement.
The operatives of the joint task force having ransacked his apartment and combed everywhere without any measure of success, destroyed whatever came in their way including his property, it was confirmed.
It was however gathered that the sheer presence of the joint task force of the Anambra State Command of the Nigerian Police and the Nigerian army following their sudden arrival sent many local residents in the community scampering into hiding for safety as sporadic gunshots were repeatedly fired by the operatives in the community.
Prior to the invasion of the private residence of the IPOB leader in Onitsha community in Awka, Anambra, reported accounts of failed attempts at apprehending the wanted IPOB leader and his members in Onitsha are widespread.
Meanwhile, the Anambra State Command of the Nigerian Police in a statement made available to journalists in Awka stated that the Command is on the trail of one Oziegbe Adolor identified as an IPOB leader and his members in Awka .
The statement stated that the IPOB leader and his members were responsible for inciting wanton violence in several communities which has further escalated instabilities and insecurity in the region.
The statement further urged members of the general public with any useful information on the whereabouts of the wanted IPOB member and his supporters to report at any nearby police station or the criminal investigation department of the Anambra Command of the Nigerian.
