INEC Confirms Hacking of Website, Says It Has Been Restored
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has acknowledged that its website has been hacked into.
The commission, in its tweeter handle @inecnigeria, said it had launched investigation into the matter.
Its Director, Voter Education and Publicity, Oluwole Osaze-Uzzi confirmed that the site has been restored without giving further explanation.
Meanwhile, security has been beefed up at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, which is INEC’s collation center for the presidential election.
The security personnel, were drawn from the Department State Security (DSS), Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps
(NSCDC).
