Imo 2019: APC guber candidates missing in INEC list

The ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC) Imo State may end up in filling no governorship candidate in the 2019 general election as the party’s flag bearer was yesterday conspicuously missing in the 67 gubernatorial candidates published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The National Working Committee (NWC) of APC had earlier submitted the name of Senator Hope Uzodinma as its governorship candidate for Imo State but no reason was given by the Electoral body for not including the name submitted by APC NWC.
Daily Times reports that Chief Uche Nwosu, the son in-law to the state governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha had engaged in a running battle for a period of time with Senator Hope Uzodinma.
It was gathered that non inclusion of APC governorship candidate in INEC list was not unconnected with several litigations in different courts.
Chief Emeka Ihedioha of the PDP governorship candidate and Senator Ifeanyi Araraume of APGA made the list. The former governor of the state, Chief Ikedi Ohakim could not make the list as his name was nowhere to be found.
Among the gubernatorial candidates that scaled INEC hurdle include five females, Mrs. Joy Emeziem of GPD, Ijeoma Onwubuari (NDLP), Mrs. Joy Udodiri Iheanacho (MMN), Mrs. Ibe Mercy (DP) and Mrs. Ihemedu Nkemjika (NCP)
other governorship candidates were Chief Ibe Kenechukwu, (Accord Party), Chief Okechukwu Eze (SPD), Mr. Alusous Osuji (MAJA) Mr. Linus Okorie (YPP), Mr. Akagburuonye Success (ADP) and Anthony Nwulu (UPP).
