I’ll tackle Boko Haram frontally at ‘next level’ – Buhari

Adewale Momoh, Akure
President Muhammadu Buhari has stated that the lingering issue of Boko Haram which has been a major security concern will be a thing of the past when re-elected at the February 16th polls. Buhari who is the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), gave the assurance in Akure, the Ondo State capital during his campaign rally for his re-election bid. The President who hinged his manifesto on security, economy and fight against corruption maintained that enormous feats have been achieved compared to what it used to before he came on board in 2015. “Before we came on board, Boko Haram was having field day in attacking soft targets and using young boys and girls for their nefarious and criminal activities but, under our government we have curb it to the minimum. He appealed that the people of Ondo State should vote for him at the polls in order to complete all wagging he has said has started, particularly at defeating the Boko Haram insurgency finally, as well as the fight against corruption. Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo who was also part of the campaign train to Ondo State, maintained that his boss, President Muhammadu Buhari is paramount about employment for the youth, hence the reason behind the establishment of the N Power project. According to Osinbajo, the people of Ondo State stand to benefit a lot when they vote in President Buhari at the polls, as the state has been pencil down among the states to be incorporated in the railway project of the present administration. “Through N-power, when have been able to empower 500,000 youths. We are taking it to 1.5 million in the next level. “When the railway project begins, many would be gainfully engaged, likewise the ongoing road project, hence the reason you must vote APC at the presidential poll. While stating that PDP should not be considered at the polls due to what he described as the party’s corrupt tendency maintained that, “we are also targeting to ensure that everyone get electricity. Some towns that have been in black out for over five years have now been restored with power. “In our next level project, we will up the school feeding program which has already been a huge success. Even with the project, our farmers are now smiling because they have being the one supplying all the items needed. “Corruption led us to our present situation, and I appeal to you all that you should not let us go back there. Ensure you vote the APC.” According to the APC National Chairman, Adam Oshiomhole, “Buhari cares for the poor, he’s ensured that the children of the poor have access to education as well as access free meal at school. But Obasanjo and Jonathan never took care of the poor. “When Buhari came on board he maintained that Nigeria must produce what she consumes. But you all know that the policy has been the best ever. Oshiomhole who lashed out the PDP Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar over his recent comments urged the people to mindful of who they give their votes to at the poll. Atiku stated that he will enrich his friends, that he will sell the NNPC. You all know that that is not reasonable enough. But you are not his friends. “He also told the people when he went to campaign in the east that he will construct the second Niger Bridge, which we have already started. He even mentioned that he will do that because of his wife. “But we never allow him to do it because we will you PVC to kill his ambition.” On the part of the Director General of the Buhari/Osinbajo campaign council, Rotimi Ameachi, “if we lose this election in this state (Ondo State), anybody from Ondo State must not come to my office. You can imagine my state, Rivers what they are losing for not being APC. “You cannot trust PDP, when they designed their railway project, they never included Ondo State but with Buhari coming on board he directed that Akure, the state capital must be included. “There’s is no money to be shared again like in the days of the PDP, what we are doing is to ensure that there is infrastructure across the country as well as employment for all. The National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who appreciated the gesture of the people of Ondo State shown to APC in 2015 urged them to again maintain their stand at the poll with their votes. “When Nigeria was drifting apart by the bad leadership of the PDP, you (people of Ondo State) stood solidly behind the Change project which liberated the country in 2015. “We believe in President Muhammadu Buhari. Now with Buhari we are building infrastructure, the electricity project is ongoing, which is already boosting the country’s industrialization. “On February 16, stay with your votes, don’t allow them to rig the votes. Go and vote for APC, and the youth, don’t be deceived, only APC can do it for you. This is the time to take vengeance on Obasanjo and the liars of the PDP. Obasanjo rigged Osoba out after dinning with him, he his full of deceit. It is time to take vengeance on him with your votes They are the master riggers, vote for progress, for your children, for better tomorrow. The host Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, assured that the state never disappointed Buhari in 2015 and it not do such now, but to ensure a wider margin. “All of us in the South West are one, we are all for APC, we for Buhari. “When we were not in government APC won in 2015, but now that we are in government in Ondo, it is paramount for us to let the margin to be wider. “We assure Mr President that we have already delivered our votes, you will win handsomely here, that is a fact.” Among those present at the campaign rally were the Governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu as well as Governors of Ekiti, Edo and Osun, the National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Minister of Transport, Rotimi Ameachi, former governor of Osun State, Bisi Akande, the Nigerian Ambassador to Togo, Sola Iji.
