Ignore Buhari’s Purported Discussion With Trump, Group Tells Nigerians
Nigerians have been asked to take with a pitch of salt or totally ignore the purported discussion of United States of America (USA) President, Donald Trump with the ailing Nigerian President, Mohammed Buhari.
The International Society for Civil Society and Rule of Law, (Intersociety) in a Statement in Onitsha, Anambra State faulted the statement signed by Buhari’s Media Adviser, Femi Adesina, which was carried by national dailies.
The group in a statement signed by its chairman of Board of Trustees (BoT), Comrade Emeka Umeagbalasi, they said that the only way the report can be believed was that White House spokesman in Washinton DC, confirms the matter.
Urging Nigerians to ignore the statement as one of those propaganda materials from the Presidency, the group said that not even the United States Embassy in Nigeria was competent to speak on the matter.
“This is because of the likelihood of the Emabassy being contaminated by trending presidential virus or falsehood or in the name of diplomatic pressures.
Funny enough the same Adesina who signed this statement barely know where his boss is and suddenly he appears in his presence to record what he discussed with President Trump” said Intersociety.
They said that with the intrigues and dramas associated with Buhari’s sickness and his where about, the latest statement was more disturbing because of its potential to spark-off diplomatic rows between Nigeria and the new administration in US.
The group opined “Such far-reaching diplomatic conversation can only take place between two mentally coherent and bodily agile presidents and if Nigerian President is feat, why is he not on seat in Nigeria?”
They argued that if President Trump must talk to Nigerian President, it should be the acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, since Buhari has transferred presidential powers and functions to him.
“Most importantly and strikingly, the statement under reference is monolithic in source, having only come from the Adesina who is co-enmeshed in trending presidential falsehood and associated in dramas in Nigeria concerning the where about and the health status of President Buhari” the BoT boss of Intersociety said.
